Welcome to the NOVEMBER 2015 ISSUE of the ‘Australian Stonefruit Grower’ incorporating the ‘Low Chill Stonefruit Grower’. This is the voice for the Australian Stone Fruit Industry and is the official publication for Summerfruit Australia Ltd and Low Chill Australia Inc. – the industry bodies representing the interests of Australian stone fruit growers. In this issue there is a focus on the Research – particularly that pertaining to the control of Queensland Fruit Fly. “This project has been funded by HAL using levy funds with matching funds from the Australian Government.” This publication has been supported by – AustSafe Super, Sumitomo Chemical Samurai, The Sticker Co. and Greefa - Grading & Packing. Included IN THIS ISSUE are FOUR Research Project Reports - all based on the Fruit Fly. This will be the last publication that I shall produce and edit for the Australian Stone Fruit Industry. It represents that last of what must be forty publications I have produced for the industry over the past nine years. And, after nine years, I am standing down as Communications Manager of Low Chill Australia Inc. and retiring (see Farewell Message in this publication) at the end of this year. It has been an honour and privilege to have had the opportunity to serve this vibrant industry – Thank You.
